TIQ spearheads Queensland's engagement at BioAsia 2024

Hyderabad: Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), the dedicated business agency of the Government of Queensland, announces the positive outcomes of its participation as the global sponsor for BioAsia 2024. The event provided a platform for initiating discussions and exploring potential partnerships within the life sciences industry and healthcare sector.
Queensland's participation in BioAsia 2024 was a success, reinforcing the state's commitment to global innovation through collaboration. Led by TIQ, a delegation of 8 Queensland researchers and companies engaged in fruitful collaborations with Indian and global counterparts. The Queensland delegates showcased the state's innovative capabilities in R&D, AI, and data-driven solutions during interactions with industry leaders and experts. This collaboration highlights Queensland's leadership in R&D and the strategic value of partnerships with India and other global entities for economic growth and innovation.
Mr. Abhinav Bhatia, Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner – South Asia, Trade and Investment Queensland, stated, “Our participation at BioAsia 2024 reflects Queensland's focus on driving innovation and fostering global partnerships through joint research, phase I clinical trials, and joint drug discovery initiatives, which were discussed during meetings between Queensland and Indian life sciences leaders.”
The Queensland delegation included notable figures such as Professor Alan Rowan, Director of the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology at the University of Queensland (UQ), Tamanna Monem, Head of Growth & Partnerships at The Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR), Professor Prasad Yarlagadda, Dean of Engineering at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), Prof Eliza Whiteside, Head (Research) at UniSQ, and Dr. Anand Gautam, founder of G2OME CONSULTING GROUP and Life Science Queensland Ambassador.
Accompanying the delegates were leading Queensland companies such as Microbio, Southern RNA, Aegros, and Clinials, showcasing groundbreaking work across life sciences innovation, from R&D and clinical trials to data & AI applications. This participation highlighted Queensland's contributions to the life sciences sector and laid the foundation for future collaborations.
